Shania & Shino Gabo

When the Lord saved Shania from Islam, she immediately began evangelizing on her own on the street but also through PalTalk, an internet voice chatroom which was popular among the Somalis in the 2000s. When the Lord saved her husband, Shino, he joined her, evangelizing online.

During the 2015 Somali Christian Summer Conference, 100+ Somali believers gathered together for the first time, who mostly became believers through our ministry over the years. God gave one of the founders the vision for them to show the world that Somali Christians exist! From there, 12 Somali believers, including the 2 founders of SCMM, showed their faces and said they were Somali Christians in a video, which was then posted on the internet. This resulted in the video going viral, shock in the Somali community and Somali news picking it up! Never before had the Somali Muslim community ever seen anyone claim to be Somali Christian and showing their faces. Somalia was a proud 100% Sunni Muslim nation. This resulted in the founders of SCMM receiving a death sentence from the Islamic high court, as well as all the others in that video.

The following year, 2016, SCMM was born. The founders show their faces and use their names to tell the Somali Muslims all about the Gospel, using social media. They also have set up the first of it’s kind and historical Somali Christian TV programme, broadcasted in East Africa and Sweden. SCMM utilizes Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp & TV to evangelise the Somali Muslims, worldwide.

Ezekiel joined SCMM in 2018 and is the head of IT and production. He studied Computer Science and is self-taught in producing content. He edits and sends all TV programmes to our partnering TV stations, produces, records and edits all of our video content throughout our social medias.

As a Somali ex-Muslim believer, he doesn't share his identity online, due to the threats Shania and Shino have received. His content in English is for the younger, second generation Muslims who are interested in the Gospel and any young person considering Islam, in apologetics style.

Naomi joined SCMM in 2021. With her background as a Psychologist, she offers counselling services to the Somali believers via WhatsApp. She also creates content for the younger generation Somali Muslims or other Muslims, challenging their faith in Islam in an apologetics style. Due to the danger of ex-Muslims showing their faces, and the threat on Shania and Shino's lives due to their identity being public, Naomi doesn't share her identity online.

Mark 16:15-16

Our vision is to see all Somali Muslims saved and becoming vibrant communities of Jesus followers. We aim to sow the seed broadly, using social media and TV, so all Somali Muslims who speak Somali and any Muslims who speak English, hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What we believe

We believe that God is one.
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!”

We believe that God has revealed Himself in three ways. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is loving, holy and just.
Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”

We believe that the Bible is the true Word of God. He is a perfect guide to everyone who believes in him.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We believe that there is a sin between God and man and that the only way we can reconcile with God is through Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, without which all people will be lost.
John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

We believe that the Holy Spirit is our helper. It will guide us in every aspect of our lives. He blesses us with the spiritual gifts and strengthens us to receive spiritual fruits.
John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

We believe that salvation is the gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
